Following 20 premieres of the year's best ski movies, an esteemed panel of judges will honor the cream of the crop by selecting nominees and winners for 16 awards over four categories (Pro, Am, Open and Web) that will be handed out on the final night of IF3 by a star-studded cast of presenters from the world of skiing.

The Newschoolers Awards are brought to you by Newschoolers.com, freeskiing's biggest online community...and it's not your typical awards show. With a riled up capacity crowd, unpredictable antics and nostalgic moments that are talked about for years after the fact, the 4th annual Newschoolers Awards, much like IF3 as a whole, is sure to be bigger and better than ever this year.

For the third year in a row, Moment Skis is proud to produce the IF3 Palms to be presented at the Newschoolers Awards. These ski trophies are themed after popular lingo on Newschoolers and were designed by JP Fortier and Guillaume Perusse from Cresus Design, who put their creative minds to good use to produce the 2010 IF3 branding, which will be seen throughout all IF3 activities.

The Newschoolers Awards will also pay special tribute to Eric Simard, a talented ski filmmaker from Quebec who passed away this winter, by renaming the Best Am Cinematography Award the Eric Simard Award.

Le Newschoolers Award est la consécration du visionnement des 20 meilleures productions de l’industrie mondiale des films de ski. Créer dans l’optique d’honorer le travail ardue de ces créateurs, 16 prix seront remis au courant de la soirée.

La soirée présentée par Newschoolers.com, la plus grande communauté de skieurs promet d’être légendaires, plus gros et amélioré, la soirée fera, sans aucun doute, partie de l’anthologie.

Les Newschoolers Award vont rendre hommage à Eric Simard, un cinéaste québécois fort talentueux qui a perdu la vie cet hiver, en renommant le prix du meilleur film amateur, le prix Eric Simard.
